Reply to "Revised List of Electors 2019"

I just saw this. What kind of gin kaak bring ramgoat story hey?

FB posting from Anil Nandlall.

I thought that when the Chairperson of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), approximately two weeks ago, casted her vote in favour of verifying the 16,863 “possible new registrants” emerging from the truncated house-to-house registration exercise, GECOM had accepted that unverified names cannot legally eventuate unto the Revised List of Electors (RLE).

I, therefore, felt fortified when GECOM embarked upon a verification exercise in respect of these 16,863 “possible new registrants”, scrutinized by agents of the political parties.

This verification exercise resulted in 6,535 persons on that list of 16,863 not being verified. I understand this to mean that these persons were not found by the verifiers. Significantly, only 118 of this list of 16,863 were not visited.

After going through with this entire ordeal, GECOM still ends up placing all the 16,863 on the RLE, including 6,417, which GECOM itself has confirmed they could not find and the 118 who were not even visited.

Now, GECOM is requesting the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) to provide evidence to establish that the 6,535 persons do not exist, even though it is GECOM that executed the verification exercise and it is GECOM that disclosed that they were unable to verify the existence or whereabouts of these very persons.

Maybe, I am losing it, but does this make sense to anyone?

Coincidentally, 6,535 votes will constitute over one seat, the difference between APNU & the PPP at the 2015 elections.
