It has been 12 years since the Indian model, Nafisa Joseph, left this planet for a happy land, far-far away. Winner of Femina Miss India 1997, a finalist in the Miss Universe 1997 pageant in Miami and an MTV Video Jockey by profession, took her life in her Versova flat in Mumbai, in the year 2004. Nafisa became famous for her role in the television show C.A.T.S, an Indian version of Charlie's Angels. Her death came as a shock to her friends and family and revealed the bitter truth and the darker side of the glamorous industry.

Before the dawn of her life could even start, she put an abrupt halt to it forever. Her parents blamed her fiance, Gautam Khanduja, for provoking her to take the big irreversible step. Nafisa was to marry Gautam Khanduja in a few weeks' time but she found out that he was still married because of which their wedding was called off. Nafisa was an actor, model, philanthropist, a VJ and a columnist.

Nafisa was born to a Syrian Christian father and a Bengali mother in Bangalore
