BREAKING NEWS: CJ grants extension of time to further hold Mingo in Police custody
Today, an Application for an “…Extension of Time to further hold…” Clairmont Mingo, who was the Returning Officer for Electoral District number four (4) during the 2nd March 2020 National and Regional Elections, was granted by the Chief Justice (ag), Rishi Persaud.
According to the Order, “THIS COURT ORDERS that an extension of time is granted for 24 hours to hold the body of Clairmont Mingo in Police Custody until the 29th August 2020 at 14:20 hours.”
“IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Clairmont Mingo report to Mr. Mitchell Caeser, Nigel Stephens and or Rodwell Sorrabo or the next senior officer at the CID Headquarters Eve Leary, Kingston, Georgetown at 9:00 am daily with effect from 30th August 2020.”
“IT IS ALSO ORDERED that Clairmont Mingo lodge his passport with the CID Headquarters Eve Leary, Kingston, Georgetown and to report a change of residence to one of the officers mentioned in the Order.”
Mingo and others are being held as the Police are carrying out an investigation in relation to the 2nd March 2020 National and Regional Elections.
