[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Police Force has been unable to put their hands on Linden Primo, the man who panicked and fired a live round into the air on Sunday during the People’s National Congress Reform Congress at Congress Place Sophia.
Sources close to the investigation confirmed that while the man does have links to the Office of the Leader of the Opposition and Congress Place, he is also employed with a Mining Company based in the city.
Several visits to the man’s home and his workplace saw police coming up empty handed with respect to the man’s whereabouts. In addition, his employer cannot be located even as the police continue to check its records to ascertain if the man is a license firearm holder.
The police are reportedly now receiving the cooperation of Congress Place and were able to visit the location and interview and take statements from the person who made the report about the shooting as well as take photographs of the area where the bullet penetrated.
The police were not able to retrieve any spent shells from the scene.
During a press conference at Congress Place on Sunday, Granger confirmed that indeed a gunshot was fired, however he could not say who fired the shot, but he is adamant that the person involved is in no way connected to the PNCR.
He told reporters that an investigation was launched. The Leader sought to explain that persons “broke the barrier and forced their way into the auditorium…someone was in danger of being crushed.”
