When they formed the AFC, Khemraj Ramjattan and Raphael Trotman, announced with great fanfare they’d solved Guyana’s ethnic problem. And how did these two political refugees accomplish this feat which had escaped everyone up to then? “Simple!” they announced.

The two of them would become leaders of their party and – representing the ‘two major races’ of Guyana – would alternate the party’s presidential candidacy after every election.
Yep! That was it! Indians and Africans would gaze at these two men, see their hopes and aspirations reflected in the latter’s faces, and grab the ‘key’! Trotman had to have meant he was representing Africans… ‘two major races’ and all that.

All right old chap counsee, stop fantasizing.  Lay your facts on the table.  Name the leaders and members of the two or more factions of the AFC?

Time to put up or shut up with your spiteful deception.

I know you cannot handle how a 5 year old party is now at 29% of the electorate.

Your envy of the AFC is so much since you cannot understand why the leaders of the AFC are welcome in EVERY community, unlike the PPP who is hated in Buxton, Sophia, Victoria etc, while the PNC cannot even step into the front road in Enmore.

The AFC on the the other hand, is welcomed in Cotton Tree, Black Bush Polder and ever village of Guyana.

Look get lost you evil selfish politicians who's only aim is to keep the people in subservience all their lives.

GET LOST!

According to another whistle blower within the AFC, the power struggle has intensify over the leadership, the Ramjattan faction is deeply dissatisfied , that the hughes and also Moses's faction has merge, and the Ramjattan's faction are now in the shadows....

The AFC is known to be dominated by several factions. In the run up to the party's announcement of its 2011 election presidential candidate the powerful diaspora group led by Dr Rohan Somar was successful in putting in check the ambitions of Raphael Trotman who wanted to sidestep the party's leadership rotation rule to allow himself another run in 2011 as its presidential candidate.  Trotman later declined the prime ministerial candidacy which was then given to Sheila Holder prior to her passing. It was only after his ascension to the parliamentary speakership that he returned to the fold.
