An apt position as Chairman based on his knowledge plus Guyana indeed is one and the most important country with the forest potential to abate huge pollution generated from the major industrial countries.

Succinctly,  ...

1. Because of the huge industrial development over the centuries in places such as Europe, England, US_of_A, Canada, former USSR, etc., these countries have destroyed their vast forestry areas which absorb the carbon dioxide.

2. Consequently, the accumulations of carbon dioxide migrate to countries which have vast forestry areas and specifically Guyana has extensive areas in the forests to absorb and convert the carbon dioxide.

Hence, the known monetary contribution from Norway to Guyana.

Of note ... forest conservation does not mean that there is no harvesting of logs in the respective areas.
