Jagdeo wanted Granger to select an Indian.  NONE of the black names that he selected were of the type that APNU would have accepted.  Given that the PNC always had a few "fit and proper" Indians on their list they demanded that Jagdeo do the same and include blacks suitable to APNU.  He didn't so Granger made his decision.

Jagdeo can select a suitable person or GECOM will scream that they are leaderless so cannot prepare for elections.  The CCJ can be "disappointed" with GECOM but they cannot force them to hold an election for which they aren't prepared unless they want to face the result of having one lacking in credibility. 

There are two CARICOM countries where you don't play with elections.  Jamaica is one and Guyana the other.  Guyana isn't St. Vincent.  It is a nation of two warring tribes.

Granger was hell-bent on displaying to the nation that he is the typical black bully that the PNC is noted for. You give these people an inch and they bully their way to take a foot. The moment they get an ounce of power, all hell breaks loose in Guyana.
