Clearly Badal is not qualified for this position as Chairman of GPL. His appointment was a political reward along the lines of "friends and family" of the apnu/afc.  In fact we can view this a conflict of interest as he is now in a position to use his influence to his own benefit as a consumer of electricity for his hotel Pegasus and other businesses he owns in Guyana. Many of you now praising this appointment were crying tears of blood when the PPP appointed the chairman of Guysuco over the years.

Give Granger credit in manipulating these Indos by throwing some scraps at them and watch their eyes light up.

AFC/PNC is the most corrupt party and now they have become a friend and family party.

This is indeed a dictatorship in the making. Granger is behaving just like Burnham.

Caribny, I know the difference between a CEO and a Chairman of the Board. My statement still stands. Look, the coalition said that it will do things differently from the previous regime.

And in this case they have.

1. We all seem to agree that the man is highly competent.

2.  As a bonus, he is also Indian.

So his appointment is an example of placing a competent man in a position, without regard to the need to pander to their ethnic insecurities of the winning party's support base.

Chairmen run NOTHING.  CEOs do. Badal will be chairman.  Do you know the difference?

ok, lets rephrase, what credentials does he have for this position, aside from being a donor?

Quit this rambling.  His qualifications have been outlined even by your buddy Zed, even though Zed thinks that he is the appointments committee. and that he needs to see the resumes of all, prior to their appointment.

"2.  As a bonus, he is also Indian."

Banna, now you being funny right???

Would you rather they appointed a black person?  I can bet loads of APNU supporters would be glad for this job.

Its interesting that you scream for diversity, and when an example of this is provided you aren't satisfied.

OK so next time APNU should just find a competent black person and leave it at that.

Given the history of Guyana and the ethnic exclusion practiced by Indians, Africans, mixed, and Portuguese, in the public AND private sectors, it is perfectly legitimate for one to ensure that competency and ethnic diversity be important factors in selecting leadership.

VishMahabir is having a cow at this suggestion.  You know if a competent black person was selected instead, he would be screaming "ethnic cleansing".

Why not?  Do you have the brains to say why?  Clearly not!

Notice how you deleted the rest of my post where I addressed this conflict of interest.

Because the basis for your allegations of conflict of interest reflect what a simpleton you are.  Jagdeo has stuck Marriott on the existing govt, as it turns out that they LIED when they claimed that the had investors.

So why would one gov't agency fail to supply another with a vital service.  Who is going to have to cover the losses?
