Another act of racism against an East Indian of Guyana. Where is Keffer when we need him. He should get that organization of his to help this brother out.

Why don't you take him from Guyana to the USA and teach him your well developed 'fine art' of cleaning toilets and latrines in the US army ? Based on your never-ending yapping that you know everything under the sun; you should be able to introduce him to one of those zillions of people; Iranian, Ethiopian, Indian, Turkish, Arab, Spanish etc, that  you meet each and every day ! Isn't is about time that you do something helpful or productive with your life as a toilet cleaner  ?

I vaguely remember this....I once went with some older folks to "steal" mangoes from another person's yard...the banna chased us but he had something called slingy-shot shooting pebbles at us. Some of us got hit in the derriere.

Prashad, how can this possibly be racism, you half-brained jackass ? We know it is usually very difficult for you to grasp simple things so let me spell it out for you in the simplest way: 1) the mangoes were the property of a third party, 2) this idiot had the option buy some of the mangoes or to seek the owner's permission to pick some of the mangoes, but 3) he consciously made the choice of not seeking the permission of the owner and 4) broke the law by to taking possession of the property of a third party without his/her permission. The law prescribes sanctions against people who behaved as this idiot did; so where is the racism, you idiot ?  This man made a choice; unfortunately the wrong one and he was made to suffer the consequences... end of story, you idiot !! Given the depth of your sympathy for this fool, why don't you send him some money (to buy mangoes when next he is hungry) or ask Modi to bring some Alphonso mangoes from India for him ? Now, Prashad, get your ass the hell off the board with your ridiculous conclusions and suggestions !

Keffer like he prefers spending his time in his old age trying to get a white skin Arab woman to say "I do take this brown man as my lawful wedded husband" instead of helping out a Guyanese East Indian brother in need.

Keffer make sure it is not a covered white skin Arab man pretending to be an Arab woman because he will "Lawerence of Arabia you" and break your back.

I am not gay, Prashad; I will leave that sort of activity entirely to you.

The best fork stick for a slingshot came from a guava tree. Never seen one with bicycle spokes.

The one made from bicycle spoke used shots made from folding paper shaped like the letter U or we also used crate nails also with the U shape which was kinda dangerous.

I used to cut short pieces of stiff wire then wrap the paper around that. It held its shape when you bent it. Was also heavier and went further distances. I never used bicycle spokes but in addition to branch forks I remember using wire from old bedsprings. There were V shaped pieces which joined together to form the bedspring. As Cain said, those used folded paper. The really heavy duty ones from branch forks, bicycle tubing and old pieces of leather used small stones and sometimes pieces of lead.

Crate nails = staples

Among other things they were used to pin down barbed wire on fenceposts. Dangerous as slingshot missiles.

This is life for some of our young Indo-men in Guyana. It's sad that he has to steal mangoes for his birthday. If nah rum get am so, then what? Afro gets their problems and Indos get am worst. I can't remember seeing an Indo in that condition when I was living in Guyana.

This is not a new occurrence.  This is the reality behind the glossy facade of the Go Go economy that developed under the PPP.  I went behind the scenes several years ago and there is more of this than you care to know.

This is the one I have. I will be looking for a good bow with a set of arrows next spring for target shooting.

Man, I saw some bows at the sporting goods store... $1400-$1500. My brother has two(not the expensive ones...$400.00). He bow hunts in the fall before gun hunt. About a week ago he got a doe about 100 pounds of dressed meat.
