Mouth open, story jump out.
Today's Kaiteur News reports: 'Foreign Affairs Minister, Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett, took to her Facebook page, saying that President Ramotar did not commit an illegality when he prorogued Parliament.
“He acted in keeping with the Constitution and has already set a date for elections which will be announced shortly. Guyana has already alerted the Commonwealth that we will be requesting an observer mission. The High Commissioner cannot be so unaware.”'
HO HO HO!!!
Didn't we know Ramotar's $10,000 Because We Care schoolchildren's grants was vote-buying?
Didn't we know the free bus rides were vote-buying?
Didn't we know the opening of passport offices in Berbice, Linden, Essequibo and Lethem was vote-buying?
Didn't we know the early December announcement of public servants salary increases and one-year back pay were vote-buying?
Didn't we know? We ain't stupid.
Now that the Foreign Minister buss-up de secret, we must put pressure on Ramotar to announce the date.
Kaieteur News, Stabroek News, AFC, APNU, TUC, all stakeholders must come out strong and force Ramotar to say the date.
It's unfair to the majority of Guyanese that only the PPP people know the elections date and are already campaigning with state resources to boot.
