I hope Vish do not go off on a tantrum but take my comments for what it is meant, how they can attract more business owners.

In as much as it might seem like Freak and Joker are being funny their comments about the part of the program where singles will get to meet singles  should be taken seriously. I am not aware of any economic business group having an Award Gala/ Dinner AND HOOKING UP SINGLES IS PART OF THE AGENDA.

This one looks to be different. The "auction" gimmick is a free-market tool to attract a clientele that is largely absent from such galas. The business of Richmond Hill is always the undercurrent. Even you should admire the marketing technique of Vish. As far as the "professional" touch is concerned, maybe your presence will be an added boost. Don't ya think?

Bro  business meetings, functions and  galas cannot afford to have any such gimmick, especially if you have representatives from City, State and Federal agencies. Representatives from those agencies are on the clock when they attend these functions  and will never attend if on the flyer it is stated that single people are being "auctioned".

Come on Kari get serious now, this in America and not Guyana where there is little or  no accountability as to what public servants do or cannot do.

See what I mean, that's a legit question.

Sometimes it makes me wonder what Vishnu really think he is running, is it a sports/ religious  club or an economic development organization.

Chief, "auctioned" is a metaphor. It's creative. There are many instances of straight-jacketed corporate America companies that use similar creative stunts. Surely you do not expect Vishnu to have an auctioneer's gavel and speak 100 words a minute while pointing to some smarmy bachelor (or stray husband) who nods his head or raise a finger. Surely you do not expect chicks lining up to be "auctioned".

Chief, at weddings they ask the single ladies to come forward and then the newly minted husband throw some commemorative object, and they do likewise for the other sex.

Chief, lighten up about the "auction" thing, or tell us if there is another reason to protest this. Show a big heart, like I've evangelized about you, and show up. Or make me out to be a liar, or a propagator of lurid exercises at what is supposed to be a button-up affair.
