Now Dance India Dance (DID) started

also looking at India Got Talent n HunarBaaz

saw “Trip to Bountiful@ yesterday.. loved it!! (Carrie Watts (Geraldine Page) may be old, but she suffers no shortage of spirit. When her carping daughter-in-law (Carlin Glynn) and overprotective son (John Heard) forbid her to travel alone from Houston to her childhood home in Bountiful, she strikes out anyway. Learning that trains no longer stop there, she takes a bus instead and en route meets a young woman (Rebecca De Mornay) with whom she shares both secrets and memories. Little does she know that her family has alerted the police.)

I haven't watched a Bollywood movie for years. I find them insulting to Indian mentality. They are so dumb and illogical that it's an insult to the viewers intelligence.  However I view the songs and dances on YouTube.

Shashi Kapoor and other Bollywood bigwigs said they watch western movies and how come the west doesn't watch Indian movies, they were told it's because Indian movies make no sense. Rekha said western movies make sense.

the songs and dances are what they use to lure Indians everywhere

I still enjoy old movies (50’s-70’s) esp  the songs n dances.  There  r few good ones these days.. n few good actors. Too much violence these days n also songs n dances r not my cup of tea

BOB BISWAS with Abhishek  Bachhan …

im not a fan of AB..although i have seen 1 or 2 good films with him (Guru n a new(ish)  1 called Marnarika or something lie that with Tapsee Pannu

but i think he did an excellent job portraying the character of Bob Biswas..

…interesting storyline

Saw “wedding Season’ on Sunday on n enjoyed it ( my younger daughter wanted us to look at it)

i also looked at Kashmir Files with Anupam Kher..i found it very good..anyone seen it ??

the question is this..how much truth is there in it??

i knowit is based on a true story but itis NOT a documentary.

bollywood is known to ‘embellish’ true story for entertainment purposes.acting’actors impressed me (not a typical bollywood movie)

i had no idea that ABC stopped airing it as I havent seen it for quite a few yrs.

My daughter has Disney+ so she n i started to look at the current show..last night it was ‘themost meorable year’ n let me tell u..it was a tear jerker for me!! Selma Blair has MS n had to quit because it was affecting her health !

The previous episode was Disney n the 1 before was BOND (007) night

My faves r Wayne Brady n the Charli , the young girl who shared that she suffers from anxiety ..

Also Gabby the nurse..she shared how difficult it was for her as an ICU nurse during the pandemic to watch people die without having family with them..just the nurses /staff in ICU who held their hands until the last breath!!

Hey Lynn.....good to see you still checking in. I don't do so often enough.

Retired....not sure how/why I am so busy.  oh right......the grand kids!! love spending time with and cooking curry, dhaal, rice, roti, chowmein for them.

Harry n Meghan......watched the first two episodes and found very boring.....was expecting a lot more 'scandal'.  Will eventually watch the other episodes.

I watched and netflix mini-series (8 episodes) of a show called "New Recruit" about CIA agents.  In one episode the starbai talked about .... not exact words....'escaping from bandits in Guyana'. had to replay to make sure I heard correctly.

I actually like to watch netflix mini series.

Currently watching "Emily in Paris"...lots of fluff but entertaining.

Looked at UUNCHIE yesterday

very nice, light-hearted story ..i enjoyed it

here is a review..

Fine and Inspiring Family Film
*UUNCHAI (2022) -*

Few aged friends take a trek to the Everest Base Camp (EBC-Nepal), to accomplish their friend's last wish. A naive climbing then becomes personal, emotional, and mystical journey as they battle their physical limitations (by being old) and recognize the true meaning of self-determination. Film has a very talented actors army like Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Danny, Boman Irani, Parineeti Chopra, Neena Gupta, Sarika and Nafisha Ali. Need not to say that all of them are great and have lifted this Rajshri Production's venture greatly as well.

Barjatyas are known for making large scale family entertainers! And Uunchai is also a family drama which revolves around friendship of senior citizens. Story is all about friends amongst whom one dies and rest all to fulfill his last wish decides to climb EBC. All of them have zeal, potential, firm motive and wish of accomplishment this task, but alongside limitations and difficulties. How they old aged completes this against all odds is the crux of this film.

Film has light comedy, drama, family emotions, friendship stories, sentiments, catchy dialogues, some real mountaineering, and scenic beauty of Everest. Yes! Amit Trivedi's music is outstanding and literally flows with the film. Songs are hummable and likable. Film is long and at times slow so screenplay could have been better here. Through sharp editing film also could have been cut shorted a bit coz it is nearly of 3 hours. But overall, it's a good watch and parents/grandparents would like it for sure. Take your family along and I would like to rate it as 3.5 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟💫).

*What I Liked Most? -* Anupam Kher and his comic-timing throughout.
