Thief flees with judge’s television
BERBICE police are investigating the theft of a 32’’ smart television from the judge’s quarters within the compound of the Berbice High Court.
The device, valued $120,000, was secured in the temporary dwelling of the rotating judges assigned to the Supreme Court.
It was reported that the caretaker of the building, Alexis Cameron, had observed that a window at the northern side of the wooden and concrete edifice was opened.
At the time, the security guard was not around. Earlier, a contractor assigned to do renovation to the roof of the building had gone to the site and did not see the guard and proceeded to commence his task.
Reports revealed that the television was affixed to the wall prior to its removal.
Investigations are ongoing.
