Anil's latest response:

My attention was drawn to statements made by Attorney General, Mr. Basil Williams at a Press Conference held earlier toda..

Tomorrow I will be holding a press conference on this matter.

Mr Williams is indeed out of line for being disrespectful to the judge.

In any event, the PPP are fighting for the right to keep in their possession property the clearly swiped from the state. If they remained in power we would still be paying all the PPP bills for the personnel, utilities and other associated costs incurred on this property as well. They are bare faced punks. I guess this is not facts about the naked theft by the jagdeo regime for Zed et al.

D2, the research centre is not a profit making enterprise. It was basically providing an opportunity for the words and work of Cheddi Jagan continue to be available for others to learn from, etc. The property was leased, not stolen. Yes, the lease payments are low and the costs or a part of the costs were borne by the government. Please provide proof it was stolen if I am incorrect.

well, this is something that the government should have done in the first place. Cheddi Jagan was an important person in Guyana's political, economic and social development. What would have been your response or the response of the opposition if the government had officially set up the research centre instead of the current board of PPP members and admirers of Cheddi?

Please do not get me wrong. I have always said that anyone found guilty of stealing from the state should be jailed. The operative word is "convicted". Regardless of what you or I might think about the honesty of the PPP members, or for that matter,  all politicians in Guyana, at this point none from the PPP has been convicted in a criminal court. Unless you elected yourself, judge and jury and pronounced them guilty in your (secret) court of which we are not aware.
