For the record I don't think the US wants ISIS gone. Western countries are being paid by Iraq to be there fighting with oil money. This war will keep iran bogged down there and they will have to expend money while oil prices are low.

This move is going to keep iran and assad in check, but the west does not want this war to end. That would be irresponsible.
