the easy answer is this. Blacks see themselves as Guyanese who happen to be black. Indians see themselves as Indians who happen to be Guyanese.

Draw from that as you will but it is quite clear that the two groups have a very different view of what being "Guyanese" is and how it relates to their ethnicity. Just start a discussion on "Douglarization" and see how this goes.

One of the Indo Nazis here (either yuji or skeldon) had a serious meltdown when a former poster (shaijan) revealed that one of his family members married a dougla. The reaction was akin to a revelation of a child being discovered to be gay.
