Read again. You are misquoting what the Government health officials are saying.

There is a chance that you can contract the virus even if you're vaccinated though the odds are less than for an unvaccinated person. What the health officials are telling you is that you are much less likely to get SERIOUSLY ill or DIE if you are vaccinated. This is borne out by the statistics which tell us that upwards of 95% of those dying and getting seriously ill are unvaccinated people. The health officials are not telling us that you can't get the virus if you're vaccinated. That is a misconception being peddled by the anti vaxxer community.
