The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is currently on the hunt for three men involved in a shootout with police in Albouystown, Georgetown, on Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 11:00h. Guyana Times understands that three men were involved in a heated argument along Hunter Street when one of the individuals pulled out a firearm and discharged several rounds in the air. As he attempted to escape, he was confronted by a police patrol. He reportedly opened fire in the direction of the police and then made his escape by running through a cross street. Reports indicate that the police were forced to cease fire since other individuals including children were in the vicinity. Fortunately, no one was hurt. This publication understands that the police received descriptions of the men involved in the argument and are currently pursuing suspects. Up to press time, no arrest had been made.
