Bandits pose as customers rob chicken vendor

UNDER the pretext of buying a large amount of chicken a 70-year-old businesswoman of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown was robbed Monday by two bandits, one of whom was armed.

Reports indicate that the businesswoman operates a small chicken business at her address. The two robbers visited her home under the pretext of buying a large amount of chicken and as she was about to sell them, one of the men pulled out a gun and dealt her one lash to her forehead.

The injured woman was then ordered to hand over whatever cash she had and then the men made good their escape in a white car. No shots were fired. The businesswoman had to seek medical attention. Police investigations are continuing.
