Ganja seized, driver arrested after car barrels through roadblock

A driver is now in custody following a marijuana bust on West Coast Berbice. Police in B’ Division are on the hunt for two other suspected drug traffickers who were seen exiting two vehicles in Region Five.
The driver of one of the cars who was found disposing of the cannabis has since been placed under arrest.
Reports are that a speeding car burst through a police roadblock along the public road of the Fort Wellington Police Station Monday morning.
A police press release stated that ranks were forced to take evasive action to avoid being struck down. The vehicle which was pursued by police was discovered crashed into a tree located in Number 23 Village, West Coast Berbice. It also stated that when the ranks were approaching the vehicle two occupants were seen exiting and entering another vehicle that sped away.
Ranks reportedly chased after the second vehicle, which veered into a street at Number 27 Village, West Coast Berbice and landed into a nearby trench.
The two males were seen exiting the vehicle making good their escape in a nearby street, while the driver of the vehicle was arrested while in the process of attempting to dispose of the suspected cannabis.
The driver, a 23-year-old of Onderneeming Village, West Coast Berbice is said to be employed with a water company.
The items were later weighed and amounted to in excess of 20 lbs.
Also, Bevash Reshram, 20 of East Canje Berbice was arrested after he was found with 22 lbs of cannabis in his possession.
According to information gathered, the vehicle which was en route to Georgetown was intercepted at Bath Village, West Coast Berbice. A search conducted on the vehicle led to the discovery of five taped parcels containing the items. The parcels were found inside
