All across Europe, dem Government putting windfall tax fuh prevent dem companies from mekking super- profits because of de high price to petrol. One country put a 60% windfall tax pun dem oil companies. Meanwhile in Guyana, we paying dem oil companies tax.
But while dem oil companies doing well, Guyanese ketchin dem tail. De cost of living still high and no matter wah de Government do, some prices nah coming down. De price of food in de market gone up and while de Minister of Agriculture talk dat de country gat enough chicken fuh Christmas, he nah talking how chicken retailing fuh $100 more per pound dan before.
And chicken is poor man meat. Dem poor man gan eat chicken fuh Christmas. And dem gan dream about de oil money and how one day dem might be able to afford duck and turkey.
