These Indian kids win almost every year. They have this spelling "association" they belong to and their parents take them around the country for friendly competition among themselves. By the time the spelling bee comes around, they are seasoned veterans.
No surprise they win. I will congratulate them but at the same time I must keep in mind that when they grow up, they will behave just like their parents and scorn anyone who is not a Brahmin or belong to a certain caste.
Of Course Congratulations is gud enough, but some are ashamed how the Afro will view them. i am quick to point out to my associate I am a West Indian and not a Indian.

I always tell people that I have Indian ancestry but I am not Indian.
