Info regarding cane harvesting machine I received.

It was in used at Enmore/ Foulis / Haslinton . There was no issue with driving through the land to harvest the cane.

They brought the wrong machine ( maybe that’s what they had at the time) The machine was not able to gather all the cane from the bed. This result in less yield as opposed to hand cutting.

I was told between Lusignan toward Sheriff Street (cane field ) the soil was the best. GuySuCo gets more production from sugar cane.

There is many variety in sugar cane.

Strange that’s what it took to find out the issue.   My dad was with GUYSUCO, though not with sugar.  However, he saw the evaluation when burnham wanted to introduce harvesters when GAWU went of the big strike.

One issue was the fact that the specie of cane did not grow upright and they would loose a lot which then needs to be manually harvested.

This sound like a shotgun approach by whoever. Sounds like a smaller scale Skeldon screw up.  It’s just baffling!
