BillyB, Guyana is a small country with an intimate society. In the 70s, while the East Indian business community contributed to the PPP they also contributed to the PNC and UF because socialism was anathema to them. I do not know of the East Indian opportunism you speak of - Intellectuals? Urban business and professional? Rural small business types?

Anyhow, Thanks to BillB, VishMaha, Seigheil and the band of olks Caribny refer to as Indo-KKK for letting us know that there are people in this world that still needs an embrace of intelligence.
