Many of these societies that use Corporal punishment on children are in former oppressed countries that suffered brutal colonialism, slavery and Indentureship.

The impact of our male and female ancestors being brutally beaten until they are inches away from death by the Euro field foreman and his Tommy sidekicks have negatively impacted our minds and act as stressors/behavior that have/are being modeled then passed down from one generation to the next generation.

indeed there is no excuse for this behavior. However, we do no know what happened here. We only have the parents words against an native girl who said she was abused. This is a one year old baby so if she did anything it would show up and a case should be developed. We see the police sending on cases ie the one where the Amerind woman and child was beaten mercilessly on video by a cop, and to this day nothing happened. The cop is still on his old beat. This young girl, in a strange place, without support, and abused by her account is accused and jailed within one week! What sort of justice is that?

There are always two sides to a story. One remembers the highly publicized case in Boston where, parents, both trained medical doctors, insisted the babysitter shook their child to death and the babysitter, an English girl, was charged with murder. She was found guilty and the judge just threw the case out because he said the jury was not paying attention to the evidence and no evidence was ever developed to show the baby was shaken to death. As I said, a proper trial was not conducted, and had it not been this native girl this case would be languishing for 5 to eight years before a trial.
