Just like the PPP/C Govt in Guyana, the mechanism of the Justice System needs much to be desired. One law for certain folks and another for those close to the PPP/C does not work, and it casts a shameful views on Guyana as a whole.
The PPP/C corruption is not a guarded secret anymore, but is like daylight for all to see.
You beat a child daily and you expect that child to come to school in the morning and be ready to learn? One abuses an animal and that animal is scared when it sees the abuser. Can you imagine what frame of mind these abused children go to school with? I remember those "wild canes" that were sitting on the teachers' desks. The ministry of education should put a stop all this nonsense. Give the children a chance to learn free from fear.
All of that is indeed correct, no one should beat a child. However, this is to be established and grounded in good evidence if you are to put a young native girl in jail for 5 years.
Note this is a society that let murderers walk an it is one that let smugglers caught red handed with their smuggled item loose on technicalities. One remember that the magistrate could not determine from the evidence if diesel was a petroleum product and Buddy was let loose on that technicality. This young woman needed a proper trial.
