Sadly it's still being perpetuated elsewhere. Few months ago I was with a younger male and single relative at grocery store and the cashier was very attractive. She also happened to be mixed. I pointed her out to him and suggested he start a conversation with her. His response, "sorry, I can't go there". This is a kid who was born here but was raised racist.
