My educated friend, don't you know that cancer has a gestation period? One doesn't wake up on Friday morning and discover one's cancer appeared overnight.

In most cases in third world countries people do wake up on Friday mornings and discover they have cancer as most people do not go for pre-screening, etc.  Even in developed countries people wake up on Friday mornings and find out they have cancer despite the fact that many of them get regular check ups.  Certain types of cancer hide in the body and are not discovered until it's too late.  What is going on here is there are better means of people getting diagnosed.

Just to clarify what I said, cancer starts its existence in the body for some period before anyone discovers that fact. Whether in the developed or under-developed world, a diagnosis confirms cancer that was already in the body for some time.
