The governing People’s Progressive Party (PPP) is calling on the People’s National Congress (PNC) to explain why it refused to enter into a government of national unity with the PPP during the 1960’s and in the 1970’s.

Forbes Burnham,believed that he will rule for life and the PNC, with it focus on rigging the elections, will be in power for eternity.

However, that ended in 1992 when the international observers group under former president Jimmy Carter brought an end to the PNC practices with fair and free elections for the first time.
