Even Obama spoke about voters wanting to see new faces after seeing the same one for a while. He lamented that voters may want a Republican since he was there for 8 long years. And that is exactly what voters did. They switched for an idiot name Trump. Since then they have learned their lesson and have been moving back to the Democrats as seen in 2017 & 2018. Similarly people including the Carter Center got tired of seeing the PPP and wanted change. So they voted for the hapless PNC lead Coalition and have regretted it also nd have been moving back to the PPP as evidenced by the 2016 & 2018 elections.

There is a huge difference between the US and Guyana though. While we can count on the elections in the US being fair and on time, we cannot count on that with Guyana since the despotic PNC are in charge of the elections.
