Neither Obama or the Republicans have the answer to America's problems. It really is the end of an era when America was the best at all industries. Today the country is besieged by nations that are swifter, faster and hungrier for economic progress. Namely, China, India, and a few others. Most Americans realize that this nation is no longer competitive or will ever regain its former glory, sort of like the demise of Rome.
