Yuji is an ungrateful wretch he forgets that its black American civil rights struggles that allowed PPP refugees to flee Forbes Burnham. Prior to 1965 US immigration laws would have rendered migration to the USA as being all but impossible.

Canada interestingly enough only removed its "whites only" immigration policy in 1962.  You bet the US civil rights struggle and Canada's embarrassment that its immigration policies were Jim Crow which led to this.

And many of you gallop into all sorts of occupations from which you would have been barred, even in NYC.  Yes its the civil rights struggle led by black Americans which opened the doors to women and to non black immigrants.

But you all rush in, lack the manners to thank black Americans and even join whites in stigmatizing them.

And yes white privilege does exist, notwithstanding the ability of many who aren't white male to jump over those barriers.

  • You keep saying that the civil rights movement was the reason for the Hart–Celler Act of 1965 that opened the doors to people of color to migrate to the USA. Some will argue that it is a coincidence as it was proposed by 3 white men. No MLK or Blacks involved and it was based on the 1952 'Whom shall we welcome" study commissioned by Truman.

I don't doubt that the civil rights movement influenced, but to say solely that it was the reason is disingenuous if not deceitful.
