Dalip Singh (1941-2020)

My uncle Dalip Singh, my father’s youngest brother, died in London, England at the age of 79, a victim of CV-19. My uncle worked in the Personnel Department of the Albion Sugar Estate, and at the age of 19 migrated to England. There he completed his GCE “O” Levels and “A” Levels, and later qualified as an Accountant. He worked for many years in the City of London before retiring. His daughter and only child Geeta predeceased him by 3 years.

Lord, we humbly recommend the soul of thy servant into thy hands. Impute not unto him the follies of his youth, nor any of the error and miscarriages of his life. But strengthen him in his agony, and carry him safely through his last distress. Let not his faith waver, nor his hope fail, nor his charity be disordered. Let him die in peace, and rest in hope, and rise in Glory. Lord, unto thy gracious Mercy and Protection we commit him. Spare him whom thou has redeemed with thy most precious blood. And deliver him for whose sake thou didst suffer death, from all evil and from everlasting death. Let his portion be with the Patriarchs and Prophets, with the Apostles and Martyrs, and all thy holy Saints, in the arms of Christ, in the bosom of Felicity, and in the Kingdom of God for ever. Amen.
