I tried to start this thread to bring back some sentimental longings or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations; especially the 60's and 70's when most of us left Guyana.

Hope others can post some pictures.

When my big sis left Guyana for NYC in 1970, my parents hired a bus and car for family and friends to accompany her to the airport. We had a huge farewell the day before with lots of cooking up. At the airport, migrating ladies piled lots of hats on their heads and I wondered what were they hiding there, money?    The good old days.
