Rohan Singh should have resigned as Head Presidential Guard a long time now. According to press reports, presidential guards have been involved in various violations of the law over the past 22 years. Singh is accountable but he is quick to put plasters on sores.

Looking at the slapping of John Adams, I will say this: Presidential guards were in Aishalton village to protect the person of the President, not to be political police. John Adams' utterings didn't injure the President's body. The slap was unwarranted.

In one way, those guards harmed the PPP's chances of getting votes in Aishalton and surrounding Rupununi villages.
