That is not so. It cost to be poor. Most poor people pay more for the basics since their communities are undeserved by the food distribution conglomerates. And that is just the beginning, Most do not have banking so check cashing and payday lending services infest those areas. It is where you also see the hole in the wall Chinese stores and liquor stores all selling products jacked up 20 to 30 percent above standard rates. Emergency services are non existent, schools are ill equipped, no recreational centers or playgrounds etc while they are over policed. It cost poor people to be poor and the idea that poor people are lazy is a myth.
I just went up into the mountains to by a dog I saw offered for sale. I went there and it was paradise, the scenery was breathtaking. I waited in a really massive supermarket parking lot for the girl to arrive. She came with the dog. She was howling. She was crying and talking to the dog and asking forgiveness for giving her away because she was too poor to take care of her. This was no ghetto. It was poverty in paradise.
The supermarket was the main place that offered jobs and at minimum wage. That girl has a degree she worked at the supermarket. She returned to the hills because her husband was abusing her and her kids. The community was white. It was no ghetto but everyone there were living on the margins. There are few ways to get out of that valley and poverty.
