The Stanley Hotel

The Stanley Hotel

A stay at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, inspired Stephen King to write The Shining, which was turned the Jack Nicholson film of the same name. Why was King so inspired? Perhaps it was numerous reports of ghosts, mostly in the ballroom. One of the ghosts likes to play the piano and then disappear when people approach. Another phantom is a reported kleptomaniac. If that isn't scary enough for you, you'll find The Shining playing round the clock on the hotel's in-house television system. Redrum!
