Many historians and politicians place alot of emphasis on the Berbice rebellion.
But it was the Demerara Rebellion of 1823 that brought home the necessity for Emancipation on every British Colony. The British public sort of demanded it from the House of Commons.
We are still slaves in many ways. The Slave ships and the masters are gone but the slaves still remain in a state of dependency. Time for emancipation.
