Labourer stole Marriott Hotel cable, court told

A labourer was yesterday charged with stealing a length of cable belonging to the still under construction Marriott Hotel.
Michael Persaud of 118 North Road, Bourda pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry in the Georgetown Magistratesβ Court One and he was released on self-bail.
It was alleged that on October 12, at Kingston, Georgetown, Persaud stole the length of cable, valued $4,000. No further details were given in court regarding the case.
Although released on self-bail, Persaud was placed on a bond to keep the peace. His next court hearing is fixed for October 21.
