Later that evening or during the wee hours of the following day, an Information Technology worker at the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) who had complained of feeling tired – who was later identified as Enrique Livan – was busted in a room all alone with two critical pieces of technology: a flash drive and a laptop which were being used in the tabulation process.
At this point, tensions were high and the Chair of the Elections Commission, Retired Justice Claudette Singh was locked away in a room in the building and had not emerged for hours. Eventually, a number of party agents stormed the office amid concerns that the Chairwoman was being held against her will.
On March 14, a high-level Caricom team arrived in the country to begin working out the logistics for the recount exercise.
Needless to say, the recount confirmed that the PPP/C won the elections with a commanding 233,336 votes, a remarkable lead of 15,416 over its nearest political rival, the APNU/AFC.
The APNU/AFC mounted another court challenge in the name of supporter Misenga Jones, who challenged the recount order. But that matter went all the way to the Appeal Court, which unanimously threw out her application on July 30.

In the end the good folks of Guyana prevailed and the Coalition and its supporters of elections theft have been relegated to the Opposition where they will miserably dwell for a very long time. But more importantly they have been assigned to the history books for their shameless behavior during those five long months.
Long live the PPP and the good people of Guyana.

What is definitely not happening again soon is another PNC led government. After the evil acts of the PNC and its supporters during that 5 months election debacle, there is now a whole new generation that has learned that what the elders have uttered about the PNC wickedness is nothing but the whole truth. Plus the truly good life is about to descend on the people of Guyana with the PPP providing the right governance to make it happen.
free money, meking coolie ppl like the other guyanese.
The sycophants are up and spewing their regurgitated crap. The constant reposting of silly election stories is their attempt to cover up the corruption that has descended on the land of many waters. Have they read the account of how Jagmohan and Mohamed smuggle gold and other stuff so that among other things they could donate an armored car to the fraudster that now lives at State House?

Putting people to work building roads and bridges along with other infrastructure is not free money bai. It is paying people working wages for their participation.
Lots of people around the world are receiving government help now because of the global pandemic preventing them from working.
It was David Hinds who was talking about giving people free money (and only a select group of people) but the PPP had stated very clearly that they are not in favor of that but are supportive of competitive wages instead.
Roads are only considered for some places in Demerara. And the place is going to be flooded soon. Stupid planning.

Patience bai, patience. The election of the PPP slammed on the brakes of the PNC led Coalition digging Guyana into a very deep hole. The work has already begun to fill those holes and then the building and development will continue upward for all those who wishes to truly participate it its development. Remember that Rome was not built in a day.

This is pure nonsense. The writer knows a few phrases relating to infrastructure and simply strung them together to describe a totally inappropriate context.

You are aware the US$18M is accounted for.
