The Ministry of Public Infrastructure says 28 battery units from its traffic lights across the city were stolen.
The Ministry’s electrical engineer estimates the losses to be a total of $2.5M. The matter is currently being investigated by the Guyana Police Force.
The Ministry is pleading with citizens to refrain from destroying much-needed infrastructure within the city.
