3,000 marijuana plants destroyed in Demerara River police raid
Police said that it destroyed an entire three acres of marijuana plants on Thursday. The exercise was part of a drug eradication operation at the La Harmonie Backdam, Demerara River. Ranks found a field of cannabis sativa (marijuana) plants that was under cultivation. The field was about three acres in size with about 3,000 plants ranging in height from four to seven feet. No one was arrested, police said.
