A look at how PNC Burnham rigged 1973 elections in Guyana

NINETEEN VOTERS IN EVERY TWENTY WERE FAKE

8.00min – Lancelot Ferera (Commissioner of Voter Registration): I am 100percent sure there were no fake voters on the overseas voters register. We used a local London map to get addresses.

13.00min – Sir Donald Jackson (Chairman of Elections Commission) holds the casting vote on a deadlocked GECOM. I do not presume the system is rigged unless someone proves to me that there is corruption.

Guyana's Forbes Burnham used his PNC party in 1968 and then in1973 to massively rig Guyana's national election.

This series of investigations show how blatant and crude his attempts at subterfuge were.

He used fake overseas voters to vote his PNC party a majority large enough enabling him to change the constitution of Guyana. He then ceded himself dictatorial powers over the country.

That dictatorship was to last his lifetime until his death by cancer on 6 August 1985.
