I am convinced that Local Government elections will signal the beginning of the end of PPP/Collie rule.

History is unfolding and the PPP is on the wrong side of it.

My generation are sick and tired of coolie v. negro. We care about modern liberal institutions fair to ALL.

I hope all you PPPites and PNCites die and burn in hell soon so Guyana can progress under my generation.

History has consistently borne out the fact that racial-based political systems will eventually crumble.

And they will crumble when enough of their former supporters desert them. This is what happened in South Africa and this is what is happening in Guyana before our very eyes.

Race and fear are not long term governing strategies but lame attempts to swim against the progressive tides of history and liberal democracy that all mankind yearns for.

You are right. History and time will eventually bring a tide of change.

The Mistrust between the two races started in to 60's and politicians from both sides are still around. Make no mistakes about this.

This is harsh political reality. AFC was the hope for Guyana but they eventually has been seen as siding with the PNC and this has created mistrust for the AFC. A lack of the leadership of the AFC to address corruption charges is also a factor.

Let us have a frank and honest discussion here and not attack each other. This matter will be resolved when we start talking about it.

I am a Berbician and have my home and land there and like many fled a life of prosperity after the PNC attempted to exterminate us. You can understand the fear and mistrust of the PNC that exists.

The PNC to this date has NEVER apologized for their wrongdoings.

Afro Guyanese in Guyana today feel the same that Indo Guyanese felt under the PNC. This is the truth.

Change will only come when we talk about the issues and fears on both sides. The  people has every right to cast their votes and express their disappointments.

Those who feel that they can make a change can form their own political party and promote their agenda. The young generation is free to exercise that right.

Dont't think for a moment that the issue of race does not exist in America today. They have made tremendous strides forward by electing a first Black Leader but deep down inside, the issue of race exists.

Sir,

I concur in part and disagree in part. I disagree where you say the AFC has sided with the PNC. This is only partially true. They have to act in concert with the PNC because that's how parliamentary opposition works. The AFC and the PNC need each other in order to exercise any power in Parliament.

Also, I grew up in Berbice, the PNC never tried to exterminate anyone. You exaggerate.

Lastly, I stand by my point that just as the Exodus generation that sinned before God had to die before the people of Israel could enter the Promised Land so too must the PPP/PNC generation die out for Guyana to enter its "promised land."

Your asininity knows no bounds, yuji22.

Since when is killing 2 persons called extermination?

And if you call that extermination, what would you call the hundreds of extra-judicial killings by the PPP police and phantom gangs?

OK, 2 get get killed in 1973 by the PNC guns.

Between 2000 and 2010 over 300 get killed by the PPP guns.

How can that be equal???

What do you mean by civility, idiot?

I asked you a simple question about extra-judicial killings of hundreds of Guyanese by forces managed by the PPP home affairs ministry and you cannot answer.

Instead, you bring up an irrelevancy about civility.

Was is civility  for your PPP-run forces to kill hundreds of human beings unlawfully?

the man called you asinine and you are upset. He is right. You hyperventilate on nonsense. The PNC were horrible in their time but they never tried to exterminate anyone. Dictators are never nice but as dictators go they were fairly bloodless given what others of the period did.

They were insulting, demeaning and indeed acted in many ways to piss off everyone. Surely we do not want to go back to that. Fortunately, going back is not an option. Any party in office would have to embrace democracy to gain the hand outs we need to survive. We are beggars.  While the PNC over the PPP is not much of a choice it is one that one can risk given the PPP has lost its luster. They are stagnant as a pond.

However, change is a motivator. The PPP   are fat, slovenly and unreceptive to reason given reason would mean curtailing their nasty ways. Sitting on the sidelines and getting a dose of their own medicine might be a good purgative. We cannot tolerate them much longer. Any change may be a good thing these days.
