The numbers in the World Bank report suggest that oil revenue will likely lead to an appreciable increase in per capita GDP.  How this will translate to a better life for the average person is anyone's guess.  Moreover, there is a chance that the movement to renewables will disrupt the expected revenue  from oil.  Even if the expected revenue is realized it will bring Guyana's per capita GDP close to that of Trinidad and Tobago by 2030 and to approximately 1/3 that of Canada.

If Guyana's dollar appreciates, I'd like to know how this will affect Guyana's other exports!
