Ricardo Adams struck a composed unbeaten 95 to put Essequibo within sights of victory against Georgetown when the fourth round of the Cricket Guyana Inc Jaguars franchise three-day league continued yesterday at Tuschen.
Georgetown resumed on their overnight second innings score of 13 without lost and scored 245 all out. Leon Johnson slammed 91, while Christopher Barnwell made 48, Steven Sankar 25 and Dexter Solomon 23.
Ricardo Adams and Akenie Adams picked up three wickets each, while Keemo Paul had two.
Set 193 for victory, Essequibo closed the day on 155-5 with Ricardo Adams leading the chase. Mark Williams is unbeaten on 34, while Barnwell has 4-37.
At Bush Lot, East Coast scored 321 all out in their second innings, setting West Berbice 278 to win. Chanderpaul Hemraj made 78.
At Port Mourant, Upper Corentyne posted 371 all out in their first innings.
Clinton Pestano added 33 as Keyhram Seyhodan claimed 4-78 and Mahendra Dhanpaul 2-40.
In reply, West Demerara were bowled out for 133 to trail by 238. Raymond Perez led with 56 while Akshaya Persaud made 34. Pestano captured 4-31, David Latchman 3-31 and Shawn Perreira 2-19. Batting a second time West Demerara were 59-1 at stumps.
