AFC Delivers “No Confidence” motion

The Alliance For Change today delivered its motion of “No Confidence” to the Clerk of the National Assembly Sherlock Isaacs.  The motion was proposed by AFC Vice Chairman Moses Nagamootoo and seconded by AFC Executive Member Catherine Hughes, both Members of Parliament.

The motion was delivered to the Clerk by AFC General Secretary David Patterson and AFC Treasurer Dominic Gaskin.

The Alliance For Change having received confirmation of support for this motion from A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) would hope that the motion would be debated in the new October 2014

parliamentary session.

Jalil, this is History in the making. This is powerful stuff. Was there any other government in the West Indies or Caricom Nations ever faced a No-Confidence vote? Moses is creating Permanent History. The PNC never faced a No-Confidence motion during its 28 years rule. Ramotar can avoid this, if he calls LGE now.

The PPP/C is destroying the country. Watch this video.

APNU discusses no-confidence vote with US envoy

STABROEK NEWS, AUGUST 8 ---

Main opposition coalition APNU yesterday met with the top US envoy here and among the topics for discussion was the looming motion of no-confidence against the government which can trigger fresh general elections.

A statement  today said that yesterday, Bryan Hunt, Deputy Chief of Mission, paid a courtesy call on Brigadier David Granger- Leader of the Opposition at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition.

David Granger [right) greeting Bryan Hunt (APNU photo)

Granger was accompanied by Joseph Harmon, Shadow Minister of Public Infrastructure and Ronald Bulkan, Shadow Minister of Local Government, a statement from the Leader of the Opposition said.

* APNU’s Support for a No-Confidence Motion against the Government;

* The Possibilities of General Elections instead of Local Government Elections;

* APNU’s priorities in Government.

* Foreign Direct investment under an APNU administration.

* APNU’s Relationship with the AFC and the government of President Ramotar.

The statement said that Granger took the opportunity to further elaborate on his `One Nation’ concept explaining that he would lead an all-inclusive government of National Unity once elected to office.

The statement said that Granger and his Delegation also met with Liu Yuyin, Counsellor for Political Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of China in Guyana.

The statement said that the counsellor conveyed congratulations to Granger on his recent election as the leader of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) and commented on the relationship between the communist party of China and the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) which he recounted as being excellent.

GILBAKKA'S COMMENT: APNU and the AFC represent over 51 percent of the electorate in the National Assembly. Their constituents and thousands of discontented PPP members are fed up with the minority PPP regime's arrogance and self-aggrandisement. Time to turn towards a government of national unity. The AFC's no-confidence motion will pave the way to reach that goal.
