AFC is seen in the shadow of doubt.
During the past eight months, the AFC overseas support base has been steadfast in their rhetoric against the ruling party alleging them as thieves and pro-corruption leadership. Though, none of these claims is factual, they continue this spiteful path to destabilize a functioning government and the people of a great nation. This by itself is a dangerous course of aggression to conquer their political means.

The AFC has no vision for Guyana or the skills to govern. They are seen as a game changer with no winning strategy, and a leap frog mentality to get to the top without learning to climb the ladder. The AFC has brought a new fear into the Guyanese minds through propaganda, manipulation and fabrication, and that leads to desperation. Guyanese have suffered enough though many stages of political unrest, and they cannot endure another mental torturing from the AFC.

It's shameful to mention that the overseas based have done more harm than good to shed light on an image that has already been obscured by lies and cruelty by deceiving the poor and helpless people to gain political mileage. Needless to say it is evident that the AFC stands in the shadow of doubts.

With this I have to say: Gerhard recently donated six bottomless barrels to a village where he has land interest and took more credit than what the barrel's worth. I always believe a silent giver is a sincere giver. What Gerhard have done is "insincere" and KN made a big deal by showering praise and thanks to him, while his overseas friends covered his cake with icing. This man is not selfless in his deed or shown any executive quality in his position, yet he speaks highly of Cheddi Jagan, a man who would give his life to the poor without wanting anything in return. This is what the AFC is all about, folks. Analyze that!

I don't trust the AFC anymore than I trust the APNU/PNC and the PPP. The PPP problem is Ramoutar. He has proven so far that is is extremely weak and would be happy to sell out his supporters and the rest of the country to the likes of Sharma Solomon. By the way how he got that name is he Doulgla. I can share your concern for the three disliked parties, but we have to keep in mind that the PPP was elected and given the mandate to rule. They've asked repeatedly for a tripartite agreement to work in cooperation with the oppositions on matter of national importance that is futile ten months later. Even to our dislikes, we can clearly see which party wants to move forward and who wants to hold back the country's progress.

FM

Yeah move forward like Jagdeo did. With house - scratch that - palace like Jagdeo who is basically enslaving Guyanese to pay for its upkeep. Moving forward as Jagdeo did being OUT OF THE COUNTRY more than half the year, touring, doing parades and clubs and probably signing real estate deals with Ed Ahmad on personal investments every few weeks.

AFC!!!!

You should be reminded that the AFC is nothing without the backing of APNU, and by the same nature, they can't do or change anything by themselves. APNU is silent in many areas, and they will not heed to AFC's call to rescue unless it is of mutual interest. As a third party they don't have a voice to change anything, unless they scratch APNU's back. The only voice AFC has is on GNI. So, use it while it last.

Government corruption uncovered!

Source: AFC!

Dear friend,

What is corruption? Corruption is the abuse of entrusted power for private gain.
It means that:
· Decisions are taken for private interest instead of for public benefit.
· Democratic institutions are weakened and legitimacy, public trust and support are lost.
· Instead of fair competition based on price, quality and innovation, competitive bribery thrives. This harms trade and deters investments.
· The environment is threatened - when environmental protection agencies are corrupt, the very foundations of sustainable development are eroded.
· Human rights abuses flourish - as corruption increases, regimes become more secretive, and basic social and economic rights are threatened.
· It becomes impossible for millions of people, especially in developing countries, to earn an honest living.
Many persons have asked why the Alliance For Change is participating in a debate series on corruption that is being hosted by the government-controlled National Communications Network. The answer is simple, when truth is on your side you have nothing to fear.
The debate series offered the AFC an opportunity to do several things - demonstrate that we were not the type to be intimidated by overwhelming odds and that we have width and depth in the party by fielding different representatives.
At the first debate; the Amaila Falls Hydropower Project and claims of corruption, AFC Leader Khemraj Ramjattan brought up the issue of contracts that are awarded to persons with no experience and he gave the road-building contract to 'Fip' Motilall as an example. Neither the government ministers, nor the technical expert and civil society representative, could give a plausible explanation as to why a multi-million-dollar road building contract was given to Motilall, who had never built a road in his life.
In the second debate - Marriott Hotel and corruption claims - an interesting point was made by Mr. Ramjattan; why is Marriott not investing its own money in the construction of this project if indeed it is as feasible as the government would want us to believe? The ministers of government and others on the panel failed to provide a plausible answer.
The debate on CJIA Expansion Project and corruption saw several startling revelations - no need for an Environmental Impact Assessment, the government was planning to relocate the residents, the fact that the government was aware since 1994 that they would be expanding the airport yet it still proceeded not only to encourage citizens to reside there, but undertook to regularize their occupation.
Shortly after the debate, residents of Timehri North held a press conference where they said that was the first they had heard of relocation.
Then there was the President's pension and corruption debate - the government ministers are yet to tell AFC Chairman Nigel Hughes where prime ocean front property can be bought below market value and at the price paid by the former president Bharrat Jagdeo.
Subsequent coverage in the media highlighted the grandiose lifestyle the former President intends to enjoy, all at the expense of poor taxpayers whose tax dollar will be used to staff his palatial home.
Also, a most revealing statement came from Dr.Nanda Gopaul who, in the most bold-face manner said, "What is wrong with a former president or a president seeking to ensure that he lives a comfortable life after his presidency? Especially because we have term limits, knowing full well that you are going to demit office, you must ensure that you look for your future. We must not go from a president to rags," That statement clearly revealed how the PPP/C government views the Office of the President and also indicates their general belief that it is okay to use one's office to enrich oneself.
AFC's General Secretary David Patterson had the government ministers up in arms when he quoted from the records of the Public Accounts Committee to reveal that the PPP/C never, during the last Parliament, named its representatives to the Public Procurement Commission, thus effectively making it impossible for the Commission to be enacted. The technical expert was left to fumble his way around to explain why the Constitution of Guyana, where it provides for a Public Procurement Commission, was not being honoured.
During the 2011 Elections campaign period, the issue of corruption was at the top of the list of things Guyanese are dissatisfied with. Everywhere the AFC went, people were complaining about the manner in which contracts were being awarded, not getting value for money when projects were being done and the blatant disregard by government officials to provide information.

Belief that most government officials were involved in some level of corruption was probably the single-most factor that caused the electorate to vote against the PPP/C and thereby caused the turning point in Guyana politics.
The Auditor General's most recent report identified a gamut of financial discrepancies and instances of non-accountability that contravene financial management practices. This has been the case of many reports before. Yet, even though these infractions continue to be identified, many government ministries and agencies fail to take corrective measures. It seems that the officials in these ministries and agencies have no regard for the Auditor General's recommendations and are determined, year after year, to continue with their bad practices. This is an insult to the work of the Auditor General's Office and contemptuous of taxpayers, whose money it is, that is not being properly accounted for.
Secret deals
The veil of secrecy that the Jagdeo administration employed in many of its dealings with local, regional and international companies is fast unraveling to reveal misinformation, half-truths, lies and damn lies. These companies, some with international reputations to preserve, have been providing details that are in direct contradiction to what the PPP/C government officials are saying.

This is laughable, and it's the reason why the AFC will come to its demise. Comedy has no place in politics, and six empty barrel is a mockery as I understood what charity was meant to be. Ringing bells and donation barrels can make unnecessary noise about giving.

A party of the future is anything but the AFC. If you can show the audience how you intend to sell their policies that were never put into practice, I will give you the benefit of the doubt. The Guyanese people get a taste of the AFC's action plan in Linden. And, what you're doing is causing more harm to an already crippled party. Keep trying!

You can take excerpts and create a base for corruption debates, but you can't prosecute a man base on his views. What Minister Gopal was referring is based on the same belief that we should do away with Jagan's lifestyle and apply a more meaningful foundation for a president's retirement or when he demits office. The Mariott hotel debate went through many phases, and the AFC has no clue about private/public investment. Guyana can't wait on people who are stuck in gear, whether to move or not. The AFC is going after any and everything that has the slightest misunderstanding in accounting and label them as corruptions. In that situation, they do have a full-time job because every investment and programs has to be financed with money. I don't expect this drum beat on corruption will never end as long as Ramjattan face is sour like a sourwaree. Come up with something more meaningful, Mitwahji.

I'd say this is how it should read.

You can take corruption and create a base for our fearless leader in so doing you can then prosecute a man based on his actions.

What Minister Gopal was referring is based on the same belief that we should do away with Jagan's lifestyle and principles and apply a more meaningless foundation for a president's orifice.

It is alleged that these people stole. Why not the APNU/AFC have the authorities file charges against them and give them their due process. Every crime should be prosecuted. I am sure there are die hard APNU/AFC supporters who can petition the court for this action.

Ramjattan says AFC has forced Ramotar to publicly admit massive levels of public corruption

Debunks PPP propaganda on AFC and APNU alliance
Georgetown, Guyana – Alliance For Change Presidential Candidate Khemraj Ramjattan says that his party has forced the People’s Progressive Party to admit that there are massive levels of corruption under the current administration.

“Because of the evidence of what we have found and put in the public domain it is impacting on the minds of the people across the political divides so Donald Ramotar’s political handlers, have advised him to make the admission and acknowledge corruption is rampant under the PPP and he did this at Annandale recently,” Ramjattan said following an AFC press conference at the party’s headquarters today.

“And after 19 years of the PPP being in power he (Ramotar) has no shame that he is still blaming the PNC, when in fact the PPP has allowed corruption to continue all these years and now it is far worse than it ever was under the PNC,” Ramjattan declared.

“The corruption now, under the PPP has heightened and increased rather than diminished and Ramotar has no choice but to publicly admit this,” Ramjattan said

You can't bring issues dating back to the campaign trail. Why only the AFC is fighting this corruption charge ten months later, and APNU has put the case to rest? When I see people out of jobs and in jail for their wrong doing then I will say the system is working for the better. Like I said, we can go back and forth on this and still can't get anywhere. We should talk about what Ramjattan knows about public/private investments. I guess what he doesn't understand does corrupt his brains.
