A senior Alliance for Change(AFC) official raised eyebrows when he issued a call for students to stay away from CXC and CAPE exams that are scheduled to be held on the May 11th election date recently announced by President Donald Ramotar. The statement was posted on the Facebook page of Mark Ross. Ross is very close to party leader Khemraj Ramjattan and is also a party activist.

You bring up a good point. Will there be advanced polling?
CSEC and CAPE has their own invigilators that carry on the exams, the local teachers are not allowed on the premises during those exams.

You know full well that schools are used as polling stations, so how can the kids do the exam with all the noise associated with voting.

Why is the PPP afraid to hold elections in APRIL? That way schools will be closed for one day and the kids can stay home to study as they will not have access to many school buildings to do so.

It is quite appropriate that our students not be in the midst of potential election day squabbles which has been a perennial problem with us. Controlling an angry crowd with students in the way is definitely a cause for worry. This is a heartless PPP doing their dastardly deeds with no concern for other. They want this day because they think they can leverage the Indian arrival day to their advantage.
The 2006 elections were almost incident free, the 2011 elections were relatively peaceful too, the Guyanese populace has soon a great level of political maturity since the 2006 polls. Do not be allowed yourself (stormborn) to be used as the devil's advocate in suggesting otherwise...smh

Voting at schools in Guyana will be distracting to students writing exams.
Canadian schools have separate classrooms that could buffer noise. Excepting for GT, how many Guyana schools have similar construction.
Plus, some people in Guyana tend speak loudly, must be from all the music boxes the government tend to ignore, or they were born in boiler factories.
