Leaky AFC says it won't join APNU, PPP/C

  • Thursday, 26 September 2013 23:42

The AFC says it will not be “swayed” into a coalition with the PPP/C nor the APNU ahead of the next elections as it continues to lose members.

The remark was made at a party news conference on Thursday with Treasurer Dominic Gaskin indicating that it was in response to comments in sections of the media.

“While we recognise the right of all individuals to join the political party of their choosing we call on those same individuals to recognise and respect that the party was founded on the need for greater political options than hitherto presented by the PPP/C and the PNC,” he said.

He added that it was in that context the AFC asserted its independence and reiterated that their decisions in the National Assembly stemmed from “honest and earnest deliberations” from a wide cross section of views and careful examination of relevant information.

“We will sacrifice this independent approach to appease a small but vociferous group of so-called political experts.

Three important members of the AFC North American chapter defected to the APNU in recent days after sharp irreconcilable differences about campaign strategies and party management.

They are Economist, Tarron Khemraj, businessman Rab Mukraj and Political Science Professor, Asquith Rose. Former soldier Malcolm Harripaul, who had long switched allegiance to the APNU, has been formally added to the list of defectors. This latest batch adds to the irrevocable resignation of Shamir Ally, a financier and lobbyist for the AFC, because of concerns over leadership approaches.

But following their departure it was Chairman of the AFC’s New York/New Jersey Chapter Dr. Rohan Somar who released a statement saying that the defectors wanted the AFC to align with the APNU to go into the next elections.

“They found the Chapter's resistance to that hard to crack and hence walked into the arms of the PNC-APNU. We rate one of the AFC's founding principles very highly, namely, that the AFC must be independent from the PPP and PNC/APNU. If that founding principle is not upheld or observed, then and only then will you see the demise of this NY-NJ AFC Chapter and the AFC nationally,” Dr. Somar said.

And reports surfaced on Wednesday that another AFC stalwart, Berbice attorney Charrandas Persaud had quit over grievances with the party.

Professor Rose has said that as many as 11 persons have decided to walk away from the AFC which holds a key seven-seat balance of power in the 65-seat National Assembly. He said several of them would go to APNU and the remainder back to the governing Peoples Progressive Party.

I don't believe that AFC was ever an independent party. I don't believe any promises made in this statement. Election is three years from now and things may change for the worst. I don't expect anything to get better. They will have to sway either side to facilitate APNU or PPP. They can get anything done by being an independent party.

Its a bunch of crooks in the leadership of the party. Cockeye Rumjattan, Trotman and money bags Hughes only looking to fill their pockets. Imagine they took Mitjuanita and d2's money and sport it out while those bais shout their praises. Now d2 trying to distance himself from his erroneous political choice while mitjuanita still bravely hanging in their in his quest to find a new lil bai to molest.

The AFC started with 5 members in TO. Today there are hundreds of supporters who migrated from under the PPP/C regime. The AFC is still strong in the diaspora contrary to what the PPP/C spin doctors want you to beleive.

At home,  the grass root is growing stronger.

Long Live The AFC!

ALL FOR CATHY(AFC) party

The AFC is no longer the Alliance For Change----it is now the ALL FOR CATHY(Party).

It looks like the Dirty PNC Indians in the former Alliance For change---mainly former ROAR supporters---they have decided they no longer want to wash Cathy's P******

And so they have chosen to move over to APNU where they can lick Granger's balls.

BOTTOM LINE:

While the Alliance For Change managed to pull 10.3% of the votes in the 2011 election, the ALL FOR CATHY(AFC) party will be lucky to pull 4%.

This man is 99.99% guaranteed to be re-elected president in 2016:

The only thing the AFC and Ramjattan hold dearly is how much money they can get to Cathy Hughes.

The AFC are a corrupt bunch who have demonstrated over the very short time that once Cathy got access to parliament she hung a for sale sign outside her office.

The PPP crooks driving past did not notice hehehheheeeh

Cathy and Nigel Hughes are a match made in heaven. It is a joy to see this crooked, devious and calculating couple run circles around PPP rejects Moses Nagamootoo and  Khemraj Ramjattan.

QUESTION:

When will old, angry and bitter Ralph Ramkarran join Moses and Khemraj over at the ALL FOR CATHY(AFC) party ?

There is severe in-fighting among the executives of the AFC. The PNC faction is battling to the PPP faction for control. The PNC faction seems to have firm control for now. Ralph is smart man. He watching what's going on. Any pre-mature move could be a colossal error.

You might very well be right Billy!

11,634 Berbicians in region 6 voted for Moses and the Alliance for Change in 2011.

The ALL FOR CATHY(AFC) party in which Moses has become a water boy(Dhobi) and Cathy's p***** washer----they'd be lucky to get 1164 votes in region 6 in the next election.

More antiman runnings from the effeminate Rev. Yesterday he was interested in Cathy's panties today he is after her P U S S Y.

Donald worked really hard these last few years to promote his brand to the public. The man is even giving up his Sunday mornings to take part in walking events. It is very clear that Donald is on the move politically. Now without a combined opposition in the next election then Donald will win that election very easy if he is running again.

If I were Donald I would retire.  Why run again with the risk and brutal hard work associated with the job when you can live out the rest of your life in a nice retirement with all of your political goals fullfilled and with a Nyerere type of respect from the people for stepping down from the job.  I also think that the state should build him a nice house for him and his family to live in his retirement because he would be a former President.

If I were an AFC supporter then I would be looking for something like this APNU-AFC combined opposition for the next election with agreements worked out before hand of how many seats and the Ministerial positions would be given to each.  I would settle for something like this Presidential Candidate Moses Prime Ministerial Candidate Granger.

FM

Anyone who believes that persons that left the PPP and voted AFC in the last election will automatically forgive the PPP and head back into their corrupt arms is clueless.

You have to be absolutely silly and out of touch with reality to think that is how the electorate in Guyana will behave. The people in Guyana are fed up and the AFC is getting a taste of how ticked off people are with corrupt politicians.

FM

Redux, when many Guyanese Indian voters vote they have one thing on their minds.  The safety and survival of themselves and their families on the South American continent. As long as Indians are the majority in Guyana corruption will always run a distance second for most Guyanese indians on election day.

I agree with most of what you said. Except that this proposal is almost dead on arrival. We have to show some sensitivity to Afro Guyanese. If PNC is a partner the proposal have to be reversed. Mr Nagamootoo PM and Mr Granger President. This combination will win the election. We would have to wait and see if Mr Nagamootoo and his supporters will put the Guyana interest first.

* 11,634 voters in region 6(east berbice/corentyne) voted for the Alliance for Change in 2011---21.2% of region 6 voters voted for the afc.

QUESTIONS:

1. How many of those 11,634 region 6 voters will vote for the new ALLIANCE FOR CATHY(AFC) in 2016 ?

2. How many of those who choose not to vote for the ALLIANCE FOR CATHY(AFC) will vote for APNU ?

The way the Rev sees it----the PPP will win at least 75% of the region 6 voters who voted for the alliance for change in 2011 but will not support the all for cathy(afc) party in 2016.

Is Moses Nagamootoo's hatred of the PPP so great that he would be willing to jump into be with David Granger and the PNC just to see the PPP voted out of office ?

Anyway, STICK A FORK in the alliance for change---it's now the ALL FOR CATHY(AFC) party----politically all for cathy(afc) is doomed.

We have to think real here. Indians are the majority in the country and most indians will never vote for Granger as President because of his past association with the GDF although his wife liked Walter Rodney alot.  That is why a Presidential Candidate Moses Prime Ministerial Candidate Granger would be a much stronger ticket and maybe the one winning combination that the opposition has.

I may not agree with the opinions expressed by Mitwa from time to time, however, it is uncalled for to refer to him as a pedophile unless you have hard evidence to support your claim.

it is important to keep the discussions clean rather than engaging in personal attacks. It is time  we all grow up.
